Spinal Decompression FAQs
What are the benefits of Spinal Decompression?
In the past, patients with disc problems were often limited to just a few options—physical or occupational therapy, restrictions on daily activities, prescription medications, and, if the pain became unbearable, surgery. Traditional chiropractic care has helped many people over the years, but for some, surgery seemed like the only path left.
Fortunately, that’s no longer the case. Spinal Decompression Therapy—developed by physicians and medical engineers—offers a gentle, non-surgical way to relieve pain and improve function. This advanced therapy can help with conditions like lower back pain, sciatica, herniated or bulging discs, and radiating nerve pain.
By reducing pressure on the spine and promoting natural healing, Spinal Decompression not only lessens discomfort but also helps patients regain mobility and return to the active lifestyle they want.
What is Spinal Decompression Process at Innate Chiropractic?
Our Spinal Decompression sessions in the Innate Chiropractic office in Newburgh, NY are very easy and comfortable, with a non-invasive set up. Our Spinal Decompression Chair is extremely comfortable and simple to use. You will be fitted properly with either the under-arm rests or the head and neck attachment, depending on which area of the spine we are working on. Once set properly, the session will begin by lowering the chair, and gradually lengthening once set. During the lengthening process, you will start to notice a gentle stretch in your spine resulting in the decompression of your discs and relaxation of your muscles. This process is extremely relaxing and allows for great relief. Some patients say it is the best part of their week! While mild discomfort can occur if your case is extreme, that feeling will likely dissipate after a few sessions. If there is any discomfort during the session, we have added an additional safety feature, a patient safety switch, allowing them to terminate the session at any point. Each treatment lasts between 5-15 minutes depending. Individual patient results may vary.
